Placement makes the difference
A bright ribbon near the face creates a different effect from lightness throughout the hair. Your stylist can help translate your inspiration into a plan that considers your haircut, parting and the way you usually style your hair. The goal is a result that makes sense in everyday life as well as in a photo.
Lived-in does not mean maintenance-free
Soft roots and blended color can be part of a lower-contrast grow-out, but every blonde has its own upkeep. Discuss whether your plan may include gloss appointments, conditioning and a return visit for additional lightening. Your starting color helps determine the first step.
Choose a goal, then a booking
You do not have to decide between foils and balayage on your own. Tell the salon how bright you want to go, where you want dimension and what your hair has been through. A consultation is especially useful for major lightening or color already on the hair.
Before your appointment
Bring a daylight photo of your current color and two or three reference looks. Tell the salon if you have previously used dark permanent color or home lightener.
Ask about a Custom Color appointment for balayage, highlights or blonding.
